Kellen Moore the Top Contender for Saints Head Coaching

As the 2025 offseason kicked off, there were seven head coach openings in the NFL. However, as the dust settled, six of those spots have been filled, leaving the New Orleans Saints with the only remaining vacancy. With the pressure on to find the right leader for their team, the Saints have been on the hunt for their next head coach. And it seems they may have found their top candidate.

According to sources, the Saints have interviewed Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for the head coaching position. Moore has been making waves in the league with his innovative play-calling and leadership skills. In fact, he is widely considered to be the "leader in the clubhouse" for the Saints' job.

As Eagles assistant coach Nick Sirinni puts it, "He puts the guys in good positions to succeed and is a great leader of men." This sentiment is echoed by many who have worked with Moore, including Eagles players who have praised his ability to inspire and effectively communicate with the team.

The interest in Moore has only increased after the Eagles' dominant performance in the NFC Championship Game, where they put up 55 points against the Washington Commanders. It's clear that Moore's offensive prowess has caught the attention of the Saints, and for good reason.

However, if Moore were to be hired by the Saints, it would be the fifth offensive coordinator change for quarterback Jalen Hurts in just six NFL seasons. This revolving door of coordinators is not uncommon for the Eagles, as they have lost their previous two offensive coordinators, Frank Reich and Shane Steichen, to other teams after successful Super Bowl appearance seasons. The Eagles have attempted to fill these vacancies with in-house promotions, but the results have been less than desirable, with both Mike Groh and Brian Johnson being let go. Interestingly enough the Eagles Coordinator Jonathan Gannon went on to be the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals when the Super Bowl was in AZ. Moore could head to the Saints with the Super Bowl being played in NOLA!

As we wait for the Saints to make their decision, it's clear that Moore has all the qualities of a great head coach. His attention to detail, intelligence, leadership skills, and ability to inspire and communicate with players make him a top candidate for any team in need of a coach. And with the Saints' job still up for grabs, it seems that Moore may just be the perfect fit for the role.
